Animal Crossing: New Horizons has transformed experienced gamers and total newbies alike all over the world into interior designers, city planners and/or greedy entrepreneurs. The latest to get in on the craze is New York state representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

AOC announced her new hobby by innocently asking her sizable following if she could visit the islands of random Twitter users. Her activity of choice appears to be doodling on other players' bulletin boards. This isn't necessarily the most popular or often-discussed feature among the many available in New Horizons, and like any player's preferred in-game activity, it's as good of an insight into her personality as any serious psychological analysis.

In a follow-up Tweet, AOC shared a screenshot of an iPhone timer set to four minutes, explaining that she would leave her DMs open in the four minutes following the Tweet going live. She went on to explain the volume of messages was so large, she ultimately had to close her messages after just one minute. Some of those lucky enough to get their friend code in during the allotted time were indeed visited by Ocasio-Cortez.

Her initial island visit, shared in a Tweet nested below the initial post, was to an island shared by a family of three. She reported a significant number of requests in her messages from those asking for surprise visit to spouses' islands, as well as other generally wholesome requests.

Ocasio-Cortez has spoken about her gaming habits in the past, celebrating at one point her promotion to silver rank in League of Legends. While there have been few gaming trends in history like the current New Horizons phenomenon, AOC is the first American politician to embrace the trend wholeheartedly.
