Ahead of the release of the long-delayed Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red has teamed up with Adidas for a new pair of X9000L4 inspired by the forthcoming sci-fi RPG. The game is scheduled to be released for PS4, Windows, Xbox One on November 19 and PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2021.

The limited-edition sneakers feature black uppers in an abstract, tonal camo print, triangular graphics on the quarter, and neon purple accents near the forefoot, heel counter, and the outsole. The game’s logo is displayed on the side of the black boost midsole.

Although many fans can't wait to get their hands on the new trainers, some Instagram and Twitter users questioned the flashy design, remarking that the shoes were “unpleasant looking." Others were seemingly annoyed that Cyberpunk 2077 is being used to market a slew of non-gaming products, such as CD Prokjekt Red-approved energy drinks, which some fans believe contradicts the anti-corporate philosophy of the genre.

Adidas has yet to announce a release date or price for the Cyberpunk 2077 x Adidas X9000L4, but the sneaker is expected to arrive along with the game in November. The German athletic wear brand is not the only designer to be influenced by Cyberpunk 2077. Andy Valentine, a UK costume designer, has designed a jacket based on the one worn by the game’s protagonist.

According to Valentine, the jacket took five months and 400 hours to create. Featuring a jammer on the left shoulder, LED laser-lit collar with v1 and v2 collar knobs, customized zipper tracks, patchwork and hand-painted Cyberpunk Oni, the Cyberpunk jacket is a tailor-made to take on Night City.

Whether you love or hate the Cyberpunk 2077 tie-ins, the game has been eight years in the making so it’s only natural that the high expectations extend to other creative areas. In April, Cyberpunk 2077 Funko Pops became available, and in July, The World of Cyberpunk 2077, a 192-page art book was published by Dark Horse Books, which released the first issue in a comic book series called Cyberpunk 2077: Trauma Team with writer Cullen Bunn and illustrator Miguel Valderrama this month.
