In less than a month, Animal Crossing fans will be able to get their hands on the newest game for the Nintendo Switch, Animal Crossing: New Horizons. New Horizons includes features that fans have been wanting for a while, like greater Villager customization and other brand new features. Along with the game, Nintendo will also release some new Animal Crossing themed merch in March, including a themed Nintendo Switch! Since the announcement, plenty of fans have been wondering just how badly they need a new Switch, while others wished they had known about it sooner.

When March comes around we'll see just how successful This Animal Crossing themed Switch does, but for now, we have a few themes we'd love to get our hands.

10 Clear Atomic Purple Custom System

When it came to hand-held gaming consoles in the 90s, it was hard to beat Nintendo's Game Boy. Especially the Game Boy Color, that came in several different colored cases. Some of those cases were even transparent, and for anyone wanting to feel a bit of nostalgia, this custom "Clear" Nintendo Switch is a good way to do that.

Shopowner on Etsy ccgbasp has made custom Switch consoles in classic Game Boy Color colors like Atomic Purple and Atomic Blue. It's the full system (the console and Joy-Cons) and is a bit pricer than the Animal Crossing: New Horizons edition, but it's a themed console that will appeal to more than just Animal Crossing fans.

9 Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Skin

It has taken Nintendo longer than fans had expected to come out with an Animal Crossing game for the Switch, as it was expected to be a launch title for the console when it was first released. Fans of The Legend of Zelda weren't disappointed with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which showed off just what Nintendo's new system was capable.

As of right now, there's no word on if there'll be a Legend of Zelda themed switch console, but fans of the series can still show off their pride with this amazing set of custom decals. Created and sold by Etsy shopowner MgnfcntByKua, this decal skin set is less than $20 and has a simple but elegant design of the stylized 'Z' from the game's cover, and a beautiful filigree border with images of the Goddess's Harp and the Ocarina of Time.

8 Witcher 3 Dock

Despite some fans thinking that the Switch wouldn't have the processing power to handle running The Witcher 3, a port was released for it back in October of 2019, with huge success. Though the graphics aren't as sharp as they are on PC or other home consoles, it still runs just as well on the smaller console.

There are plenty of fan-made Witcher themed consoles out there already, and now there's one for fans who play it on the Switch. Created by Lestats Mods, this awesome charging port bares Geralt's wolf medallion. The most stunning part of this is the light-up LEDs that make the medallion's eyes glow.

7 Van Gogh Sunflower Skin

The themed Switch for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is certainly cute, but a theme featuring Tom Nook and the Nooklings might not be what all Animal Crossing fans are looking for. Anyone looking to give their Switch the "air" of Animal Crossing but want a less cartoony and more artistic take might just find this set of Switch skins right up their alley.

Also made by MgnfcntByKua using the image of one of Vincent van Gogh's iconic "Sunflowers" pieces, the set comes with vinyl stickers to cover the Joycons, the console and the Switch itself, front and back.

6 Custom Gundam Paint Job

Some fans go above and beyond to showcase several of their passions and hobbies at once. One such fan is LOVENIN, from Thailand who really enjoys the Gundam series, enough to customize his Switch after one of his Gundam figures. Kotaku reports that he disassembled his Joy-Cons so that he could paint each piece separately, giving it a professionally painted look. Red and gold are the colors associated with Gundams from the Zeon Military, and the dock to LOVENIN's Switch bears the symbol of Zeon's military as well.

5 Scary Movies Custom System

Though Nintendo has always been a company that focuses on making family-friendly games that can be enjoyed by all ages, that doesn't mean there aren't a few titles intended for "mature" audiences. Outlast, The Witcher 3 and Dark Souls 3 are a few of the M rated titles that are available on the Switch. For some, the cute style of the Animal Crossing Switch might not suit their tastes, but for those who like "creepy", this custom Switch might suit their tastes.

Etsy shopowner G00s3yelectronics has a custom "Scary Movies" Switch available that depicts iconic horror movie monsters like Pennywise, Chucky, Leatherface and more. It's more expensive than the Animal Crossing themed Switch, but there isn't likely to be a horror-themed Switch officially released by Nintendo at any time soon.

4 Love, Isabelle Skin

While Tom Nook is back to being Animal Crossings mascot for New Horizons, there are plenty of fans out there who still think of Isabelle as the face of the franchise. And those fans get to show their love for the hard-working Isabelle with this Switch skin called, Love, Isabelle.

This skin set is sold by KOCustomCreations and you can either buy skins for only the parts of the console you want or the whole set. It shows the smiling face of Isabelle set to a whimsical pink cloud-filled sky and has the signature Animal Crossing leaf on both the skin for the grip and the skin for the back of the switch.

3 Painted Water Pokemon Switch Case

As cute as the Animal Crossing themed Switch will be unless you only use it with the doc as a home console, the Joy-Cons alone don't immediately scream "Animal Crossing". And aside from looks, the new themed Switch is just like any Switch and won't offer any more protection than normal.

However, this custom painted Switch case offers both protection and style. Created by Nick Badilla this soothingly serene handpainted case depicts an ocean filled with water Pokemon. Nick Badilla is an artist with his own shop where he sells a number of things like charms, art prints, pins, and even apparel!

2 Batman Comic Book Skin

This Batman comic book skin is sure to appeal to any fan of Batman and comics in general. This custom skin is created by the company Skinit that creates skins for all manner of electronic devices. This skin and the many other DC character-themed skins are engineered to fit the Switch perfectly.

It'll keep it protected from scratches and it boasts about being made from a premium vinyl that's easy to put on, take off and won't leave any residue behind on the Switch, allowing you to switch up the skin whenever you want.

1 Super Famicom Skin

When it comes to fans making dream custom versions of their consoles, many dig deep into nostalgia and recreate the look of past consoles. And this Switch is getting that same treatment with an amazing Super Famicon custom Skin.

Created by POP Skin, a Korean company that specializes in making custom skins for consoles and other electronics, this skin is modeled after the Japanese version of the Super Nintendo. This isn't even the only retro Nintendo console skin the website has made, they've also created an equally amazing NES.
