Zynga has officially opened pre-registrations for the upcoming FarmVille 3. We still don't have an official release date, but we did get to see a new trailer for the sequel – which revealed plenty of new faces you'll see around the farm.

FarmVille 3 is looking to be a massive leap forward for the series, offering more than 150 types of animals to collect, raise, and breed, and you'll be able to select from a "diverse cast of farmhands to help you build and personalize your own unique farm." When the game does eventually launch, you'll be able to find it on iOS, Android, and M1 Macs.

“Twelve years ago, FarmVille burst onto the gaming scene, creating a loyal following that has drawn over 700 million installs for the FarmVille series worldwide,” Bernard Kim, president of publishing at Zynga, said. “Today, we are thrilled to open pre-registration for FarmVille 3. The game has been uniquely designed to captivate the imagination of the many players who have enjoyed FarmVille over the past decade, as well as the enthusiasm of a new generation of gamers.”

Fans will be glad to hear that Marie – a long-running favorite character of the series – will be making a return for FarmVille 3. She'll help guide you along on your journey, although this time she'll be joined by more than 30 different farmhands that come with their own sets of skills such as baking, lumberjacking, or crafting.

FarmVille 3 will also implement a weather system that can impact the yield of your crops. Zynga said you'll want to "check the in-game weather forecast" on a regular basis, as you can it play a factor in your yield when either farming or fishing.

Be sure to sign up for pre-registration, as some unique rewards are up for grabs if you download the game shortly after launch:

"In the first two weeks after the full worldwide launch, players who download the game will receive a special starter kit that contains interactive welcome features, such as decorative elements and the ‘Early Bird profile picture’, designed to help players personalize their in-game country homestead."
