While not everyone can have the sort of reflexes possessed by a Pinball Wizard, everyone can now experience the thrills of pinball mastery thanks to a new board game. Coming out at the end of this month, Super-Skill Pinball: 4-Cade from Wizkids distills the analog-meets-video-game joy of classic pinball machines into a tabletop version.

Designed for one to four players, Super-Skill Pinball: 4-Cade contains four different pinball games. Each unique "table" comes with its own distinct pinball table board and matching pinball backglass board that corresponds to the specific pinball tables' designs: Carniball, Cyberhack, Dance Fever!, and Dragon Slayer. Just like when playing the different pinball games at an arcade, Super-Skill Pinball: 4-Cade allows players to try out different variations and genres of pinball fun.

According to a release on Wizkids's website, the game will be available in stores on September 30. Wizkids is the company behind games such as HeroClix, Dice Masters, Attack Wing, and more. Considering their specialization in dice-based games, it makes sense that Super-Skill Pinball: 4-Cade will feature dice as a central part of gameplay.

Although the game can be played solo, up to four players can participate simultaneously using the same dice rolls to move their pinball across the table. Based off the rolls of two dice, each player chooses one of the numbers and moves their ball to a bumper, spinner, or target that features the same number they've chosen. The game comes with four duplicates of each pinball table, so each individual person will have their own board.

THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

While pinball will definitely satisfy a taste for nostalgia in certain gamers, the retro fun of the game is sure to appeal just as much to its target demographic of players 12 and up. In fact, considering Animal Crossing: New Horizons features the ability to play pinball on in-game machines,  the old school arcade game is just as relevant as ever.

For those who don't want to wait until the end of the month to experience this new type of tabletop pinball, Wizkids have offered a chance to check it out in advance. The carnival and computer hacker themed tables—Carniball and Cyberhack, respectively—have been made available as Print & Play versions through the Wizkids website.
